The gator was very acclimated to humans.  While I was taking the photo it got a little too close for comfort.  I thought it was sick and contacted one of our wildlfire biologists who informed me of the story, as told.  I didn't witness it myself but I do trust the source.  I stopped by there a few weeks later and couldn't find the gator.  It wasn't the healthiest looking beast for sure.   Tough being a gator (so they say!)
