Thanks for posting. Its amazing to me how much we dont know about the Everglades ecosystem..

We did a birdwalk at Flamingo last month and were told we might spot rarely one in Snake Bight. But this is good news! We passed the western outlet of Lake Ingraham last month and I do remember spotting a pinkish blot but just thought I was hallucinating. We saw plenty of spoonbills just off the road in the mangroves.

Now I have to go back!

funny, i was just telling someone how i have not seen them the past year or two. (well, i've seen some, but not like years past). i have also seen flamingoes, lots, but not in the past 3 years...
