Had a chance to kayak / camp up in Mosquito Lagoon recently. Beautiful and very much reminiscent of 10,000 Islands (well, without Everglades City!).
Lots of mangrove & oyster beds, lost count of the number of manatees & dolphins, red fish, tarpon, mosquitos, heat... just like being back at Watson's place ;-)
Anyway, here's a short video. If you're ever up this way give me a shout.
be good,
chris

Nice video Chris, next to Mosquito Lagoon is by far my favorite bird photography site, Merritt Island NWR. Maybe I can combine a camp/photo trip this season. Juan
Hey Dallas --- Mosquito Lagoon is up on Florida'a east coast all thru the Cape Canaveral area. It's includes a National Park, National Seashore, National Wildlife Refuge, NASA, and Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.

Trying to figure out where you launched and where is the island you camped on.. I have been enjoying Google Maps with coffee but cant find exactly what launch you used and what island.
Launch was from the north entrance, behind the NPS admin building. Nice spot to launch with water, covered tables, restrooms, and you can leave you vehicle there (it's locked at night).
There are 14 island-based campsites. I checked out the farthest four spots as I wanted something open to the south (prevailing wind). The site I chose was pretty sweet except for Einstein the Raccoon (pretty sure he took my yak out for a paddle in the middle of the night. He definitely drank all my good beer but left the PBR).
Here is a LINK to a Google map of my paddle out recorded via MY TRACKS on my Android phone.
Here's a great pic... you could swear you're out in 10,000 Islands.
