Doing some rough planning - I have done some searching (maybe I am just bad a searching) and could not find any posting regarding tides - and The Nightmare.

At a nominal 0.0 low tide at Harney, how soon after the Harney low tide could you leave and have the nightmare be passable?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

The tides on the day that I plan to leave the harney chickee to broad river have water levels below 3 feet at the highest stage during the day. Is this water level high enough to paddle the nightmare? Given these low water level high tides, should the crossing be made just at the high or middle of the incoming?

Vivian my thinking is that you should arrive at the middle of the incoming. If all is not well, you can eyeball how much more water is needed. If it looks like you won't be getting enough water you have time to bail and shoot out Broad Creek and make camp at Highland..

Vivian if you're talking about taking Broad Creek just east of marker 16 up to the Wood River I tried it about 3 years ago and it looked like it had been impassable for years. Going south to north made it maybe a mile before I turned around. It looks good on the chart and the water is plenty deep but it's choked of with lots of pretty thick branches.

The Buckley's did some major work on the Wood last year, but I don't know if they did tha stretch.
