Tribe opposing Everglades road work

Work on the 1-mile bridge on the eastern Tamiami Trail is expected to go forward, starting in about 4 weeks, in spite of a lawsuit by the Miccosukee tribe to stop construction. The road work will include reinforcing and raising over 9 miles of the Trail to accomodate higher water levels needed to restore flow into the Shark River Slough.
