I work in a restaurant and we use pickles for the sandwiches. They come in 5 gall buckets with lids similar to the large sheetrock joint compound buckets. But the pickle bucket lids have a rubber seal in the lid which makes them 99.9999% waterproof. I use those for extended canoe trips for storing food, cooking gear, camping gear, even tents etc. We give them away or throw them out we go through so many so ask around at local restaurants. They smell of pickle juice for a while but that goes after time. I could supply all you guys with buckets but I am in Cape Cod MA !!!!
With the paper, laminate a couple of sheets of blank paper and use a grease pencil, wipe it clean when you're done.
just my 2 cents worth !!
Have ya'll been checking your favorite water stations?
Now is the time to be paddling in the grass, high water and cooler temps, it don't get no better.
Daily paddle? Craigheads Pond Canoe Trail, described on this website, is the best grass
paddling around. Every Everglades paddler needs to have done Craigheads Pond.
More aggressive paddle? Taylor Slough to Nine Mile Pond, a FULL one day trip.
Multi-day paddle? If you have not gone down Shark Slough, the heart of the River of Grass,
now is the time. All of these routes are described on this website.
Don't wait, water levels will drop and we'll be pushed out to salt water soon enough.
Enjoy.
