BCNP Deep Fire updates

The 26,000 acre wildfire burning near the Deep Lake Unit of Big Cypress National Preserve is about 30% contained as of Tuesday morning. I-75 along Alligator Alley will continue to experience intermittant closures, and SR 29 will remain closed until further notice. The Bear Island unit and the Fire Prairie Trail off Turner River Road are also closed until further notice. Daily updates are being provided by the NPS on the BCNP website. The URL is:
