Feature Change
Just thought to share, it seems you now have to be "friends" with someone before you can e-mail them. Hmmmmm. Oh well. I think most of us are pretty friendly, in a swampy sort of way. Cheers!

Is it possible to alter the settings so everyone is friended, or does that create a flood of spam risk?

No way I can see to change that. Also, to answer an earlier question that Esther had, the Events feature is now a "Plus" item, i.e., $$. It seems that Ning has given us just enough in the Mini plan to keep discussions going, and has taken away just enough to entice folks into paying for the premium features. The Mini plan costs $19.95/year and the Plus level jumps up to $19.95/month (or $199.95/year). Unless we want to start charging a membership fee (and dealing with the can-of-worms that opens up) I don't see that happening. Nobody ever used most of the "premium" features that were offered during the free period so I don't imagine we'll be missing much if we stay at the Mini level.

Being friends with whoever seems to be a pretty low hurdle in my perspective.
The down side to sending PM's is that there might be good discussion that all might be interested in.
I'm learning tons for this fall/winters trip via these open conversations.
