Hello All...
I just want to give everyone a thankyou for all the excellent information you have compiled. This is a great site to get insider information on the glades...
We live in coconut creek and live pretty busy lives so we definitely do not get out there as often as we should. So far we have camped on north, middle, and south cape. Oyster bay, south joe, hells bay, lane bay, and pearl bay.
We paddle a homemade 18.5' kevlar canoe (I used an old sawyer 222 as the mold.) We paddle about 80 percent of the time, but dislike fighting strong winds in a loaded canoe so we use an auxilary 1.5hp it makes less noise than i do when cursing the elements. It also allows us to get to our camps unload and go exploring in a lightly loaded boat.. I am considering making my my canoe into a sailing trimaran to limit tmy use of the auxilary even further, but it is still in the planning phase.
Most recently (nov 26-29) we did hells bay. camped on lane the first night, hells the 2nd, and pearl the 3rd. Great little trip, but the bugs where a little thick.
Hope to contribute more soon. Planning on a quick weekend getaway 17th-20th don't know where yet.
