I don't see how they can't:

It's the only way to get

I was told the NPS would like to have an interchange at Turner River Road and I-75 to cash in on the paying camping tourists.  I dont think it will ever happen and it would ruin the remote isolation of Bear Island.  But the NPS is looking for ways to make money. We will have to wait and see if the Canadians will pay $16/night to camp.

That's news to me.  There was some talk back when the I75 was being built of at least keeping an exchange ramp there for emergency purposes.  But the advocates for keeping it remote (wildlife benefits, etc) won out.  What's the latest on the exchange at Everglades Blvd.  That seems like the more probable location.

I dont know about Everglades Blvd., Robert..

The two most popular campgrounds on the Loop Road will soon be closed to non-paying campers and that has many people upset. Maybe a story here? The Pinecrest oil pad may still be available for special groups but Mitchells Landing will cost. You can check it out. They have made 3 spots with electric and the others have picnic tables. I think the airboaters will still be able to park their trailers. There is a designated area in the back.

The Bear Island public campground will also no longer be free as far as I know.  The only way to attract large amounts of paying tourists would be an interchange and I got word that it was suggested but I seriously doubt we will ever see it because of the cost.
