It was a pretty good paddling season, and while we mourn its passing, off-season paddling opens up in a few weeks, with its free backcountry permits, self-registration, uncrowded islands, long days, and dramatic afternoon weather!

My Everglades 'paddling season' started about 11.5 years ago and has never ended.

You guys are hard core campers, lol!  I wish I had a tolerance for heat and bugs to withstand the conditions in the summer it is a beautiful time for the Everglades. The tourists are gone and we can have the place to ourselves.

For me it is day trips until November.
