As long as you stay in the channel you can make it at any tide.

Hi Miguel, I would def go on a higher tide so you can cut across Snake Bight. You can also start in West Lake and go via Alligator Creek all through the interior then come down two miles along Garfield Bight (again high tide). Low tide is nice only for birdwatching!!

If I could choose the best tide I would look for a strong incoming tide about half way up when I left Flamingo marina. That way you could cut across Snake Bight with plenty of water and have the tide working with you.

More important than tide though, would be the wind direction. A strong blow from the east or north is something to avoid, if possible. A prolonged blow from those directions, quite possible this time of year, can push the water out and expose the bottom of Snake Bight. Wind trumps tide over that way.

Do your homework on the tides and the wind predictions, then get a very early departure by filing with the backcountry desk the night before.  You will have fun.
