"Among the bigger projects in the bill are $74 million for restoration of the Hoover Dike around Lake Okeechobee and $60 million to build bridges along Tamiami Trail (State 41), allowing water to flow to the southern tip of Florida.
Wednesday’s action represents the first congressional approvals of significant construction projects in the Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Program (CERP). The projects, if passed by the Senate and approved by President Barack Obama, should provide hundreds of jobs in South Florida."
