I hope this isn't off-topic - heck, Weston *was* in the Everglades less than 20 years ago. Apparently this area is rich in Tequesta sites, but only Peace Mound Park (which features two middens) is readily accessible. Also, the Weston library has a small display case of a few artifacts found at the Weston Fossil site. Many of the other sites, curiously, are mentioned and even vaguely mapped in the City of Weston's lush parks brochure but require a GPS and a heckuva lot of determination to find. At least one is in a gated community.
The brochure - archaeological sites info starts on page 31: http://www.westonfl.org/media/docs/misc/parks_brochure.pdf
Has anyone here explored Blue Cow Mound (supposedly in a sawgrass marsh behind soccer field #3 in Weston Regional Park, but I couldn't find it), the Mega Site, Towering Presence, Andytown, etc.?
