Thats just incredible.. I wonder what led them into those shallow waters?
This is good news!
I am familiar with the waters around Highland Beach, and can only imagine what a challenge they were faced with.
Wow - I have two friends that paddled From Highland Beach to Canepatch yesterday. I look forward to hearing if they saw anything.
Chatted with Charles this afternoon after they returned from their loop trip from the Turner River - Canepatch. They were indeed at Highland Beach during the stranding. Here is a picture of him and his QCC700X that his wife picked off the news coverage. I was out of town and did not see the coverage. He reports that there were huge Tiger and Bull sharks in a feeding frenzy just off the beach. He said that there was a Coast Guard C130 circling until dark - he believes so that the news media could not film the carnage. Did the feeding frenzy make the news?
Anyway, on the way back from Canepatch (two nights ago) they stayed on Highland Beach again. He said all that was left was bones and heads. Said the Vulchers had a party on them.
