A is funny but I would guess C. I try to use as little Deet as possible. I didnt realize the humidity was so bad at night no wonder I dont like camping in the Summer.

Is the AC for real??? LOL.. Gee I don't know where my little bedroom unit is. Its still cool here; high in the sixties. Keep the heat pictures coming.

Gads..I forgot my heat is still ON! gottago.

Yes Kim its for real but the pics are from 2010 at my job.  I was lucky to have electric.  I blew the AC through the bug screen. Yes we are already hot and we will be hot until November.

I also have water from an artesian well.  Usually a breeze but no shade is a bummer.

Hilarious.  I know the exact spot.  (Although I've never seen the AC-equipped tent.)

I have, my friend travels throughout FL staying at state parks in the summer months. His tent has a cutout reinforced with duct tape. Works well and cheap accommodations.

I fixed the rocks around the edge and cleaned out the pond. I found a bunch of oyster shells inside. My co-worker says the Indian girls used to wash their hair here when they were poor. It may have been here since the 1920s. Most people just drive by and never notice it.

I have been trying to grow a bald cypress tree on the edge for the longest time but the Indian maintenance man keeps chopping it down even though I put a metal pipe in the ground with orange ribbon, paint, flags, even a tiki torch and anything else I could think of. Very frustrating.

Interesting.  I think the well dates back to the 50s or so.

When Christmas and cooler weather came around, I ditched the AC and set up a propane heated shower and pumped the water with a 12 volt pump and a long hose.. These pics are labeled 2008.

What great photos!  I'm surprised I've never seen you down there.  Then again I am usually only there at day.  I'll keep an eye out next time I see you tent.

I have worked there 4 years but only Tues Wed Thurs during hunting season but Im not sure if I will be working at FMB or Donna Drive this year. I packed up my tent after I hit 40 hours every Thurs and kept the area clean to try and limit complaints. I had a few (complaints) and I try to get along with everybody. The location has been a check station long before the Indians built houses on Loop Road.

I have a camper now. Heres a pic from Bear Island. I still use the shower tent. I loved working at Bear Island the most. Sure, stop by and say hello. I love the Big Cypress as much as you do and everyone else here on this forum. I am happy to be even a small part of it.
