Airboat "Creek"/Miami Canal from I-75 mm 35 (+/-)

Airboat "Creek"/Miami Canal from I-75 mm 35 (+/-)

There is a fishing pier off I-75 at mm 35 (accessible either way and allows for return/u-turn). Directly across from it is a "creek" that runs generally south into the sawgrass about 10 miles until it intersects with what I believe is "Holiday (airboat) trail". About 1/2 mile from I-75 is an intersection with a SW bound trail that leads straight to the "Jessie Willies" camp (3.5 miles SW from intersection). 2.5 miles south from I-75 on the original creek/airboat trail is an intersection marked with a street sign "Andrews Ave." This runs east/west from Miami Canal to the "Jessie Willies" camp. This January 3rd (2014) I paddled south on the "Creek" to "Andrews Ave," turned east on "Andrews Ave" to the Miami Canal, then headed north on the Miami Canal, passing a fabulous fishing/hunting camp and portaged around the s340 dam and continued on back to I75. 8 mile round trip and lots of fun catching feisty oscars and bass.
