Fire
The fire at Avacoda Creek was put out by rain per NPS. 500 Acres burned and Canepatch camp site was reported as not affected.

Not a bad thing...good to burn off some of that underbrush.
probably a lightning strike. Chris and I were trapped at "out of commission" Sweetwater Bay Chickee by a lightning storm that lasted 2 hours and witnessed multiple strikes to the mangroves and sawgrass.

I always wondered why there weren't more trees on the interior. Now I know. How long is Sweetwater out of commission? Last time I was there a few years ago, the ladders were pulling up from the planks. Needed at least some bolts, washers, and lock nuts.
