Last year I spotted a group of pigs on the west bank of the Lostman's River - they're still out there.

About two years ago I saw a large group of pigs on Alligator Creek between Tarpon Bay and Alligator Bay. There was a large gator not too far away but he didn't look like he was in the hunting mood.

Other than a few rumored sightings, the wild hogs of DeSoto's expeditions have been eliminated in the BCNP. Its a shame in my opinion as they have lived here in the swamps longer than the Seminole Indians. Its good to hear they are hanging on in the mangroves and islands of ENP.  Im rooting for their survival.

It is time for Florida to ban the importation of exotics and maybe even consider banning possession as well...
