March 23rd Saturday Day hike

Gatorhook tramway trail in Big Cypress National Preserve

Public

Strenuous rating due to terrain.

April 21st Sunday Day hike

Roberts’ Lakes Strand south of Oasis ranger station/visitor center

Public

April 28th Sunday Day hike

Full day (10 hrs+) due to travel time.

6 miles or more total, sections may be muddy or flooded. This trail loops through pine lands and swamp, very diverse habitats.

Not into the hunters.....posted some photos from the trip will try to upload some more.

We dont know if the primitive camp belongs to hunters.  Just giving you the definition and the legality of an unattended primitive camp such as this one with benches..  I would imagine hikers may have the same privileges Sept 1 thru April 7.. Camping equipment left all season must be removed by 6PM April 8. (Turkey season in this area of the BCNP is not over til April 7).

I think the Ranger stated they had been doing work on the paths in the park. Also some schools where working to help the parks.

Thanks for the Heads up in April not into gun shots when I walking around.

They are doing a great job cutting and clearing the trail. The trail is in its best condition ever. At least you can walk on  the elevated sections now.

It looks as if I wont be able make it this weekend.  Maybe Ill wait til hunting season is over. Only another week and a half...

I agree the path was very nice. I was happy to join this hike, and will go out again soon.
