Nice trip report. We did that trip only in a southbound direction a few years ago. 3 days is real good. It took us 4 1/2. The northern section in the mud was the worst.

The one day I think we did something like 3 miles. We stayed at Ivy camp the first night. The second night we just camped in a little hammock. Using hammocks opens the campsite options. I forget where we stayed the other 2 nights they were both campsites. I think 10 mile camp was the last night. We did from 7 mile camp to Oasis in a few hours. We had planned on it being a 4 day hike but had allowed for an extra day in case
.
My shoes came apart in the mud on day one and I just did the hike shoeless which slowed me down a little.

We also filtered our water from the cypress domes. Didn't taste bad till the third day then we were wishing for some clean "tasteless" water.

A must do hike for anyone wanting to see some tough and beautiful terrain in south Florida. It is amazing to think when you are in the middle it is at least 15 miles till you hit any sign of civilization (except the occasional hunting camp) in any direction..

impressive

It's a neat place, but it can take it's toll. We had one participant who literally lost his sole!

In fact he lost THREE of them, guess he has 9 lives ..lol!

BTW I just updated the panorama section, if interested click the pic below:
