Yesterday I saw the craziest thing. I literal swarm of birds near the park entrance. I had a great day of paddling on Florida Bay but this was by far the craziest thing I have seen in a while. Watch this!

Daniel,

I saw a similar display - on a smaller but just as dense scale today on my way out of the park today.  Sadly this group of several hundred birds came out of nowhere at near ground level across the road. Between the car ahead and my car, we took out about a dozen of the poor guys.

By the size and flight characteristics, could they have been Purple Martins.... on their way up from Brazil?  I have never hit so many birds at once.  :(

great video, I know you  can follow the migrations on radar too.
I also saw a similar display on St Rd 27 north of 1-75  2 weeks ago.  There were thousands at ground level. I dont know if we hit any. They were everywhere and inches from the windshield.
