Canoe sailing photo, 1907 and link to more old Glades pics

I've been gone from the site for a long time.  Glad it's still being used so much.  My sis sent me a link to the American Museum of Natural History's photo collection.  Some great images from the Glades

American Museum of Nat History glades photo collection

Wait a second.....ain't that Tony Pernas and JT?!?!?!

They are AMAZING shots. Is this the same collection that was featured on NPR and is on exhibit at the Aha Tiki Museum?

So much has changed, and so much remains the same...

Those are great photos. Thank you for sharing the link.

These and the Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki exhibit are both from the Juian Dimmock collection.

I haven't contacted the museum but it's possible that you can get permission to print these...

Thanks for sharing this TFA. These are amazing photographs, so beautiful. Did you see the one of Watsons Place?

Thank your sis for me too! Beautiful photographs.

These photographs are so good that if I didn't know any better I'd think they were photoshopped~!

The whole glades collection is great.  Flex - a little old school dodging and burning perhaps! (a la Mr. Butcher).  No harm, it does help capture the drama of a distant black thunderhead while the photographer is in brilliant sunshine.  Love your work too.

Thanks TooFar ,, yeah those old pics just look so clean, grain-free, maybe they were "digitally restored" (ie filtered) ?

I found this link recently which makes excellent reading (you can download pdf) to go with these images :
