Hello. I am new to this site, am nearly ready to retire from working, and planning a trip out of Chokoloskee within the next two weeks. Several years back, I camped on the Sunday Bay chickee, as part of a 3 day fishing/camping adventure. Does anyone know if the chickee in Sunday Bay is still there for camping?

Do you know how far the Crooked Creek chickee is from the ramp in Chokoloskee? We'll be launching from Chokoloskee Island Park right on I-29
Dennis:
try these resources. I recommend checking all coordinates against a satellite image (google earth). some people post bad coordinates (even the maps show some sites in wrong location):

I was there this weekend. It is 8.5 miles from Everglades City. It's a pretty nice spot!
A really nice route there is to go up the Turner River to Hurdles Creek, then head east across Mud Bay and Cross Bays, then choose one of three creeks that will get you to the area of the Chickee. Much less traveled. Enjoy the Barred Owls at night!
Those calls are cool Jay. I notice there are several different calls. The calls you recorded are not the most common "who cooks for you, who cooks for you'all, that I hear in the evenings. Do you know the meaning of the different calls?
