Everglades Exploration Network

Okay, let's get this scheduled.

Charlie, how about Saturday 20 April you available?

The only issue is that's late in the season, do you think

Figure Eight will have enough water?   I'd like to keep this one

an intermediate trip so that means staying in the boat.

Will that be possible that late in April?

I figure we'd launch at the bridge at 07:00?

Looks wild I been working so much I have not been out for two months.

Still trying to clear my work schedule for this one. Terry - I know it depends on a lot of variables - what would your guess be on a finish time??

Might could work. I haven't done them this late in the season. We could start with the NW leg first, that's the most water dependent one. Worst case scenario, we go back down & do the Eastern loop, that's all marked trail...

I have done most of this route before, missing only the northeastern part of the western loop.  Here's an interesting thing--when talking to some of the EC/Choko locals they told me that what Jeff Ripple calls the West Fork of the Barron River (the west side of the West Loop) they call the Black Hills River.  I should have asked why, but didn't.

I would be interested in joining the trip, possibly staying Friday night in Everglades City.

Cow Boys is this trip active, or what?

This is the 1st Saturday in a long time that I can go.....................................please don't make me have to go fishing, and post up more fishing shots....lol

The rains have begun and the sun blazes...

The Figure 8 has been reclaimed by the mosquitoes. This trip is on hold until the onslaught lessens!

Over?

I am scheduled to work this weekend and wouldn't have been able to the trip....so I went out today and did the Collier-Seminole State Park loop.  Hot - mid day was a little toasty.  Bugs 2/10 max - I did some exploring and had a couple of pesky horse flies followed me a bit - other than that - no worries. Fishing - yes - much better than the tables predicted!

Looking forward to this trip being rescheduled - the season isn't over yet!

Sorry for a minor detour from the thread, but Jay... did you see any big poons in the intersection off the camp site???

BTW... I know some folks who are still fishing parts of what y'all are calling the area in question "the figure 8" and they are not sweatin' the bugs or even really sweatin'... but the fishing has been good!

Minor detour - no.  Saw them rolling up the side creek from the Grocery Place.  Also rolling and free jumping in Palm Bay.  Snooklets to keeper size (if we were open) and tailing reds that wouldn't eat in Mud Bay - LOL - Sailcats will take a Chartreuse suspended mirror lure if you stop to take a bite of your sandwich (twice!)   - Back to your regular programming.
