Made it out to Tarpon lake in the Big Cypress addition lands today. For anyone who hasn't tried this hike it's a 60 foot deep sinkhole located about a 6 mile round trip down a buggy trail from mile marker 51 off 75. The buggy trail is just a short hop off the levee road and it's an easy half day hike to a pretty awesome little oasis in the woods.

I wonder if there is any Tarpon in it like Deep Lake.

Didn't see any, but there was a boatload of bass. They were crowded along the banks, fighting over minnows. If I ever make it back there I'll have to bring a fishing pole. Found someone's boat stashed in the grass. Probably one of the property owners in Looneyville. There were recent buggy tracks leading right to the boat.

If anyone is interested, the Broward Chapter of the Florida Trail Association is doing a 1 day hike in to Tarpon Lake June 6th for "National Trail Day."  Here's the Facebook page for it: https://www.facebook.com/events/1590540941194244/

Another excellent write up Flex. I am very impressed you had enough courage to jump in that lake. Last time I was there, all I could see were gator heads coming up for a look.

Sweet report!

Did you get a dragonfly?

Now you're Really dangerous!
