"Nice! I was just out there with Leah last week. Thought about the Wood, but stuck to the Broad to save time. As it was we had the tide taking us in all afternoon. Paddled 18 miles from Graveyard Creek (don't camp there!) to Lonesome. Departed…"

Wood River - Status 1/2/17

Ran the Wood River yesterday from Camp Lonesome to the Broad.  Tide was on the ebb.  Transit time was 5.5 hours.  Water flow stopped about 2 miles from the exit.  The last couple of hours were challenging.  I actually think that the low water helped in that the overhead challenges seemed to be worse than the underwater challenges. I think there might have been a couple of show-stoppers at high water.  As it was we made it through without having to get out of the boats.  I was in a 15' canoe and…See More

"Sounds like a good plan.  The rest of my fleet.  The one on the left is for sale.  Does not have enough volume for what you want to do.  The one on the right is what my wife currently takes on everglades trips."

"On a 6-8 hour paddle day...some sittin - some kneeling - some sittin - some kneeling....rinse, repeat.  If you have the right kneeling pad (this pad is great) and the seat angled properly and at the proper height, both methods are comfortable…"

Jay replied to yakmaster's discussion Taylor Slough/Nine Mile
"No damage here Kim.  I probably double poled (with two paddles) for 6 hours (maybe more) or so on this trip - no damage to carbon noted - seriously.  In most places the bottom was not real soft - but not real hard....just right."
